Welcome !

Troop 577 was chartered by St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on March 1, 1952, and has been active for more than 57 years! We currently have over 100 scouts, most of whom are active. We have a diverse group of scouts with more than 20 public and private schools represented. Troop meetings are every Monday evening from 7:30 – 8:30, except for some holidays and summer camp. Meetings are held in the Scout Hut located just north across the parking lot from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, at 5923 Royal Lane between Preston Road and the Tollway. For additional information about Troop 577, see the "About Us" page or the "Contact Us" page.

Centennial Historical Merit Badges Program (Signalling, Tracking, Pathfinder, Carpentry): The troop has just learned that this has been placed on hold. Suspend any work on these merit badges until we get more information.

MARCH 8 is the DEADLINE to register and pay for the NASA Space Center trip.

If you are at least 13, First Class or above, and hold a leadership position, consider attending National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) at Camp James Ray during spring break in March. It can positively change your life. See the Calendar for more details and the link to register.

The troop held its annual election for the Order of the Arrow on Feb. 1, with 64 scouts voting for 24 eligible candidates. To be elected, candidates had to receive at least 50% of the ballots voted, meaning 32 or more votes. We are very pleased that 9 candidates were elected!

The troop & candidates will find out who was elected at the Callout Ceremony to be held March 6 at Camporee, so plan to be there. For those who were not elected, stay eligible and try again next year; it often takes more than one try and it's important to be active in the troop so that scouts know you.
